: Mokusou is one of the important Kendo training. The purpose is to calm your mind and set your mindset with today's agenda of improvement and reflection on the past training at the beginning and the end of the training.

In our Dojo, we concentrate on breezing inhaling from the nose for 2 seconds sending the air to the lower part of the abdomen 丹田 (tanden), stop 3 seconds, and exhaling from the mouth for 10 seconds. We repeat this cycle for 1 minute.
This exercise helps construct your integrity in the long run.
