ABOUT OUR KENDO CLUB

A new Kendo Club is established in March 2022 in the town of Cleveland. 
We welcome all ages, beginners, experienced, families, and kids. We aim to develop a positive human character by learning the application of theory and principles of Sword skills in Kendo.

We particularly encourage young children and teenagers to follow this Japanese traditional Budo to develop a sense of respect, resilience, gratitude, manners & etiquette, a positive mindset along with the skills and have fun in Kendo. 

Our dojo name comes partly from Soukaku Reishinkan, a Kendo Club in Sydney where the editor was an instructor. We keep contact with Reishinkan Sydney. The other part Musashi Kai comes from the popular Japanese animation, "Musashi no Ken".

We are under the umbrella of
Australian Kendo Renmei (http://www.kendoaustralia.asn.au/content/)
and Queensland Kendo Renmei (https://www.qkr.asn.au/)

They organize grading, matches, seminars, etc.

Kendo is enjoyed in more than 60 countries in the world with a population of 2.7 million (in Japan 1.7 million). It would be a rewarding experience to get to know interesting Kenshi in Australia let alone around the world by training together. 

By training Kendo, Musashi Kai wishes its members to develop/become;

• a person who does the right thing and is conscious about good health

• a community member who contributes to society
