脚下照顧kyakka-Shouko: This is a Zen Buddhism term. If you visit any good Budo jo(training venues), you will see all the shoes are placed neatly in line at the entrance. This picture is taken when I did Kendo Demonstration with Year 8 students. As you can imagine it took a while to let them do this. Believe me, this is the best they did. In Kendo or any Budo class, this is one of the important manners. But, doing so reflects your current mind and attitudes toward your learning sincerely. It implies the connotation of your mindset to learn and its reflection. When you leave, you feel your mind is settled after a good training. (toes facing out) Also, is important to align the shoes with the hands, not with the foot.
